What We Fund 

The Chur Family Foundation provides financial support to nonprofit organizations making a meaningful difference in the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community.

We prioritize projects that align with one or more of the following focus areas:


Geriatric Workforce Development

  • Building a strong eldercare workforce through scholarships, educational programs, and hands-on training in geriatric health and social services


Supporting Older Adults

  • Enhancing daily living through access to healthcare and mental health services, assistance with medical and physical needs, transportation to medical appointments, and nutritional support

Breaking the Cycle of Poverty

  • Expanding access to quality educational opportunities, academic enrichment, and reliable nutrition programs for adults and children living in poverty

Promoting Research and Innovation to Advance Successful Aging

  • We are driven to uplift elder care through innovation with purpose by funding creative, purpose-driven solutions from new models of senior support to supporting research and /or training for the next generation, we aim to improve quality of life, advance the field of aging, and bring dignity-centered care into the future

Target Population

Our funding supports disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals of all ages, with particular emphasis on:


  • Older adults, especially those who face barriers to independence, healthcare, and basic needs
  • Low-income families, particularly those at risk of long-term poverty or food insecurity

Geographic Funding Area

We fund programs and initiatives serving Erie and Niagara Counties in Western New York. Preference is given to organizations with a strong local presence and a demonstrated commitment to the needs of these communities.

Examples of Past Projects of Interest

to the Board

  • Home-based care services or transportation on programs for older adults 
  • Community health initiatives focused on aging populations 
  • Scholarship funds or internship programs aimed at students entering geriatric healthcare fields 
  • Programs that address food insecurity with a focus on seniors and food desert geographic areas
